She's the new Indie Queen par excellence, she's Kat Dennings! Born in Philly, Pennsylvania, Kat moved with her parents to L.A. at the short age of 15 to pursue an acting career.
Ever since one of her first roles in Hilary Duff's movie 'Raise your Voice' (2004), she has delivered powerful and intriguing performances, with that understated, natural and bizarre touch that's so particularly personal of hers.
With a curvaceous silhouette, dark hair and amazing eyes, Dennings has managed to captivate the indie film industry, owning every single role given to her.
Between her indie outstanding performances we find: Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (2008), Charlie Barlett (2008) and Daydream Nation (2010).
Originally named Kat Litwack, she changed her last name to Dennings in the hopes of making it in the city of dreams despite her parents expectations. And she certainly did. Kat Dennings Girl Broke

Kat Dennings is one of 2 Broke Girls on CBS. She plays Max, a waitress who’s not afraid to tell off a surly customer. Pairing her with former rich brat Caroline (Beth Behrs) could be buddy comedy gold. When Dennings met with the Television Critics Association this summer, we got in some questions about the show and the status of Thor 2.

Kat Dennings: That’s interesting. I think it’s a personality thing. I have friends who are so sarcastic but I never view it as mean. I think it’s just an intention thing. Hopefully as the show goes on, Max’s soul starts to come out and you start to know her as a person. That’s what’s so great about a show that’s on every week is you really get to know these people. As people get to know Max more, then they see that if she says something that could seem mean, it’s not because she is a good person.

09. The Corn Palace, North Main Street., Mitchell, South Dakota

Mitchell, South Dakota may be a small town, but it sure has a lot of one thing: corn. So in 1892 when the town was trying to lure more farmers to their corn-friendly state, they decided to build a castle in honor of the starchy veggie. The Corn Palace started as a simple wooden structure on Mitchell’s main drag, decorated with folk art made from corn husks and kernels. Today this “palace” still exists, and has had a pretty interesting evolution from the initial building.

The exterior of the Corn Palace is decorated every year with a new theme by local artists and the building serves as huge tourist attractions, bringing in half a million visitors a year.

10. Cadillac Ranch, Amarillo, Texas

Created in 1974 by a group of artists, this graffiti-spattered homage to American road travel breaks the dusty Texas horizon with the force of an 18-wheeler. The ten half-buried roadsters, slanted in a perfect row into an Amarillo cow pasture, have been featured in movies and referenced in songs.
